The dust has settled. The party was incredible and we have one last sponsor to highlight. Here’s to Magoo’s Annex for supporting the Downtown Block Party. In owner Carl Chalker’s words, “We love to support the community and even though we’re not Downtown, we really want to support this event.”

Magoo’s, the Historical Landmark Tavern in Tacoma’s North End near Proctor, Stadium, Old Town and University of Puget Sound,  was established 1943.

They proudly feature 17 handles of quality micro and craft brews, as well as a full service bar, and delicious fare from our brick pizza oven.

Pool, steel tip darts, pinball, foosball, and a weird video game, as well as a sweet, old-school jukebox!

Join them 365 days for food, fun and frolic.

Happy Time everyday from 3pm to 6pm, featuring $2.50 well drinks and $2.75 pints of all micro and craft beers! Daily specials include $2.75 micros and $2 hotdogs all day Mondays, $1 Tacos and $2.50 margaritas on Tuesdays, and different kitchen specials throughout the week. A Special Thank You to the New Tacoma Neighborhood Council!

The New Tacoma Neighborhood Council was an early believer and supporter of last year’s Downtown Tacoma Block Party, and when the time came to put together the 2011 Block Party things were no different.  Thank you so much New Tacoma Neighborhood Council for your continued support!

New Tacoma covers a huge portion of Downtown Tacoma, the Dome District, Stadium District, and even the Port of Tacoma.  Their mission is to create a safe, dynamic, and livable community in the New Tacoma Neighborhood.

In addition to supporting events like the Downtown Tacoma Block Party, they work to reduce criminal activity, spur economic development, and create more livable neighborhoods.

A sincere thanks for your continued support!

Block Party Door Hangers are Dropping with Local Deals! Keep a Look Out!

Have you seen one of these beautiful Downtown Tacoma Block Party Door Hangers on your front door this week?

These are more than just mere advertisement for the coolest neighbor-organized event in Tacoma.  They are secret weapons of savers and deal makers.  Most of our block party sponsors have generously donated discounts and specials for our Downtown Tacoma Block Partiers.  Check out the back side of door hangers for all the details on the special offers (like 2-for-1 Bfast at Paddy Coyne’s), and thanks again to all the local sponsors and volunteers who made this happen for everyone!

If you didn’t get one, you can pick one up at the block party. We only printed 2500 total but we’ll have a few hundred on hand until they run out!

Sponsor Profile: Indochine Asian Dining Lounge

We want to take a moment to say a special thank you to Indochine Asian Dining Lounge in Downtown Tacoma for their support of this years Downtown Tacoma Block Party.

Indochine is easily the swankiest place to eat Thai Food (and pretty much any food) in Downtown Tacoma.  They’ve been a part of the downtown Tacoma community since they opened in 2005.  They have a huge menu with cuisine that is fundamentally Thai, but is strongly influences by Chinese, Indian, Japanese, and Vietnamese cuisine, providing their loyal Tacoma clientele with completely unique and delicious cuisine.

Thanks again Indochine for supporting the Block Party and continuing to contribute to the vibe of Downtown Tacoma!
